The domestic smartphone maker Micromax recently expanded its Canvas Doodle range of Android phablets with the launch of the Canvas Doodle 4. As its name suggests, it is the fourth smartphone in the Canvas Doodle series after the Canvas Doodle, Canvas Doodle 2, and Canvas Doodle 3. The Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 sports a premium full aluminium body with a waistline of 8.9 mm, and it weighs 220 grams. The Canvas Doodle 4 on the other hand has a plastic, yet sturdy build. The Canvas Doodle 2 on the other hand runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and there’s no word it will be getting the Android Lollipop update. On the software front, the Canvas Doodle 4 is clearly a winner since it has all the latest software tweaks of the Android Lollipop.

Camera

The Canvas Doodle 4 sports an 8MP autofocus rear camera with an LED flash and a 2MP front shooter for selfies. The Canvas Doodle 2 on the other hand sports a better 12MP rear camera with full HD video recording support, autofocus, and an LED flash. It also has a 5MP front-facing snapper for video calling and selfies. So, the Canvas Doodle 2 clearly offers better photography experience than the Doodle 4.

Connectivity and Battery

In terms of connectivity, the Canvas Doodle 2 and Canvas Doodle 4, both offer similar options including dual-SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Talking about the battery, the Canvas Doodle 2 is fuelled by a 2,600mAh unit that delivers eight hours of talk time. The Canvas Doodle 4 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that provides 10 hours of talk time.

The Micromax Canvas Doodle 4 certainly offers a larger display, a bigger battery, and the latest software features, compared to the Canvas Doodle 2.
