How to Complete Exams Properly?

The day of the final exam can be quite intimidating and we should make sure that things can go much more smoothly. From an education standpoint, we should make sure that we are properly prepared. Those final day jitters can be eliminated if we are able to manage ourselves. It is important that we have the proper battle plan to tackle the situation. As an example, we should know how to properly deal with multiple choice exams. A common strategy is to answer those that we know and skip those that we don’t. In the remaining time, we could get back to these difficult questions and devote more time. If the time is running out and it’s only minutes away before the exam ends, we should take wild guesses and choose the most probably answers. Multiple choices should provide us with an opportunity to answer questions correctly. Even with true wild guesses, we may have 25 percent of choosing the right answer. Obviously, it is better to study harder, so we are able to answer all the questions.

Short answer exam is more challenging. We will be asked to answer with a single word, a few words or a complete sentence. If we don’t know the answer, our best chance is to make a brief answer that’s the most probable. Choose the most likely answer and there’s still a chance that we are answering properly. Essay exam is even more challenging and we will need to answer with one or more paragraphs. The only way to answer this correctly is to study hard. But if we don’t know the answer, we could describe related things and we may come up with a conclusion that approaches the real answer. It is possible that teacher or professor will give us half point. It is also important to know about the proper structure of an essay. We need to read the question carefully and make the most appropriate answer. Teachers and professors will know if we use padding words and other unrelated stuff in our essay. This isn’t a productive thing to do and they may even sense our desperation to answer the question.

Completing an exam will be much easier to do if we bring everything we need. We shouldn’t pump up our adrenaline excessively by not getting properly prepared. Days before the exam, we should already a special exam supplies bag. It may include pencils, pens, white out tape, erasers and spare paper. A pen may fail to work suddenly, so we should bring at least three pens and we need to make sure that each works properly. Erasers should be used only for pencil; while white out tape is a tidier way to cover up our mistakes. Whatever we do, we shouldn’t damage the scantron form, because the scoring machine won’t be able to read it, causing instant failure in exam. We should follow the direction on how to use and fill out our scantron properly. There are comfort items can be included in the exam kit, such as mints, gum and water. We could consume them between exams and we could feel much more relaxed.
